Meet the Board
Kurt Lindsey, President
Kurt is a Food Recovery Coordinator at Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank where he works to source food donations from hundreds of donors for the network of agencies in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Before starting his career at the Food Bank he worked as a Park Ranger at the Pittsburgh Parks Department and Coordinator at Job Corps Pittsburgh.
Kurt attended the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for his Undergraduate degree in Anthropology and earned a Master of Sustainability at Chatham University. Kurt is passionate about many things from music and community gardening to politics and professional development. He envisions YNPN Pittsburgh as a space where people dedicated to advancing their nonprofit careers can share skills and essential resources, learn from the leaders in our community and build on our collective strengths as a network.
Kaceme Djellouli, Treasurer
Kaceme grew up on the east end of Pittsburgh. Inspired by the Spiritan mission to serve students, he has dedicated his career to serving under-resourced communities. After serving in the US military from 2006 to 2011, where he earned the Humanitarian Service Medal for his work in Haiti as part of America's Global Response Force, Kaceme transitioned back to civilian life. He earned his degree in business administration with a concentration in supply chain management from Duquesne University in 2018 and his Certification in Planning and Inventory Management in 2019.
During the 2020-2021 COVID pandemic, Kaceme led efforts to provide essential resources to communities in need, helping learners navigate the challenges of remote education by placing technology in the hands of students with no access to learning tools and delivering hope through the 'Boxes of Joy' initiative. He and his team distributed over $9 million in vital resources to the communities most vulnerable to the pandemic's impact during this period.
In 2022, Kaceme completed the Community Leadership Course for Veterans, which increased his understanding of how he can serve his community on a deeper level. This experience inspired him to join two boards of directors: one as treasurer of the working board with YNPN and the other as the VP for Sojourner House board.
Kaceme is currently studying for an MBA, which will provide him with the tools to enhance the infrastructure he has helped build to support teachers and students in under-resourced communities. He is the Director of Operations at The Education Partnership, where he oversees the distribution of school supplies to under-resourced schools across Southwestern PA.
Kaceme's leadership philosophy centers on service, responsibility, and sustainable impact. He believes that effective leadership involves adapting to challenges and taking on difficult tasks to create meaningful change. His work is driven by a strong belief in the power of education and community support to transform lives
Kelly Pare, Secretary
Kelly Pare is the Philanthropy Stewardship Coordinator at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, where she supports donor and community engagement through events, communications and other meaningful touchpoints. A Pittsburgh native, Kelly has witnessed firsthand the powerful impact of the region’s nonprofit sector and its role in revitalizing the city. In addition to her passion for addressing food insecurity, she is deeply interested in international humanitarian aid and is committed to growing as an innovative and mission-driven nonprofit professional.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Philanthropy & Nonprofit Management from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, with a focus on Public and Nonprofit Management. Her collaborative experiences with nonprofit professionals and fellow students during her undergraduate studies inspired her to join YNPN. A strong advocate for many missions and causes, Kelly hopes to help grow YNPN Pittsburgh into a vibrant, well-known organization that supports nonprofit professionals at every stage of their careers.
Kensley Lowther, General Board Member
Kensley graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Financial Management and a minor in Human Resources. She started out her career in Human Resources and supporting the Finance/Accounting function, then transitioned to data analytics in the GPO/consulting space. She currently works as a barista - a creative outlet and craft she has grown to love over the past 7 years - while she works to transition a career from the private sector into the nonprofit space.
Kensley is new to the Pittsburgh area and has been blown away by how kind and inclusive folks in the nonprofit space have been. Being a new face and working to establish a professional network is what initially drew her to YNPN Pittsburgh, but the mission and the people are what made her stay. Kensley is excited to help grow YNPN Pittsburgh into a vibrant space where nonprofit professionals can share resources, build their networks, grow together, and collectively create positive change in our region.
